The Challenge

Donnacona is one of the largest transhipment shuttle vessels at CSL Ships, used for unloading bulk cargoes into vessels up to cape size.

They had the issue of manual bulk handling and iron ore spillages from onboard conveyor lines inside the transhipment

Iron ores are rocks and minerals from which metallic iron can

be economically extracted. They are the source of primary iron

for the world’s iron and steel industries

The Solution

A customised ducted vacuum solution was designed to improve material handling, systematic product recovery and efficient product

transfer back onto conveyor lines.

The system installed includes a 45kW high power blower, automatic filter cleaning, automated silo with sliding pneumatic valve and

heavy duty ducted network

The use of a centralised system is the most efficient solution for the

collection of any vacuumed material. Each system can be equipped with

the proper collection equipment making it easier to dispose of the material.
