Overview

Adbri Masonry is leading masonry manufacturer in Australia. They supply quality concrete bricks, blocks, pavers, retaining walls, erosion control products, architectural masonry solutions and reconstituted stone veneers. They operate at various sites throughout Australia’s East Coast and South Australia.

The Challenge

Adbri Masonry had the issue of large amounts of dust build up containing silica, which introduced both manual handling issues and
OHS issues.
They had been using a system of sweeping and shovelling, however they were unable to handle the bulk amounts and control the risk
of exposure to silica.

Silicosis occurs through inhaling dust containing silica and

can cause permanent and irreversible scarring of the lungs

The Solution

The solution was investing in multiple 1000L, 23kW vacuum systems equipped with H14 HEPA filtration.
These machines were used at multiple sites across Victoria, Queensland and New South Wales.

The H14 HEPA filtration protects against silica dust, the failure to

protect staff members from toxic dusts can lead to highly damaging

consequences for your employees and your business

Long-term Benefits

  • Ability to handle bulk materials quickly, efficiently and with reduced manual handling
  • Control build-up of silica dust with regular cleaning
  • Compliance with Australian Standards for collection of toxic dusts including silica
